Naxos Again

Naxos, Cyclades, Greece
Jean says she has had a better nights sleep but, is still troubled by her sore gum.

We walk down to Agia Anna and have a chat with the owner of the Ostria taverna, situated on the beach . He informs us that some of his tables had been blown out into the sea in the previous evening storms. Jean tells everyone that I slept through it, can`t believe a word that girl says. She said the other day that I hadn`t had a stifado, this holiday, she can really hurt a chap, I say I will cut down on the plonk, she queries what I`m on about and it transpires she was referring to a beef and onion dish!

Called in at some rooms Vagos studio`s, they didn’t speak Ingerlissh but only wanted 20 euros. The room was basic but, had great views. As we don’t need the room for a few days the language barrier maybe a problem there. Jean tried her Guernsey patois and surprisingly they didn`t understand her, but, then thinking about it I don`t understand her either!

Lianna comes over and gives us some zucchini cake, very good of her.

I had brought over two of my precious buses from my exclusive first editions and we give one to young Henry who is the son of one of the maids . He quite rightly is overjoyed to receive this collectors item. Jean thinks I am sad. For the second year running she has forgotten to pack my stamp collection! Alan & I were looking forward to swopping stamps on our balcony during the holiday. I am at a loss to think what else I can do to spend the time. Jean suggests strapping her to the bed and making mad passionate love to her. I said I would think about it. That may explain why I am not sleeping well, I am thinking about it too much!

Later we have a look at Nikos rooms next door but one, to Liana`s. We dine there sometimes and they know us and I`m sure they would look after us. The rooms are better than I thought and the price they quote is 35 euros. We are also shown an end room which we decide to take . It will be atmospheric with the fumes wafting in from the taverna, but it has great views which are complimented by the electric wires which romantically break the view up nicely!

We have a greek salad in our room in the evening, we need to save our pennies.
