Mykonos, Cyclades, Greece
Well here I go again as Archie  would say.

A late start for a trip to Greece as the flight to Mykonos isn`t until 2-00 pm.

Fred the taxi is booked and due to a crash on the motorway is few minutes late.Rather busy on the motorway.

We arrive at the EayJet desk and other than one other couple their check in desks are deserted!

We move on and straight through security the airport is very quiet, very pleasant. We were thinking of using one of the lounges but Jean is trying to cut down on the sauce and scoops she has so we give it a miss. There seem to have been changes to some facilities and Jean spots a pasty shop. Despite my pleas of not being hungry we purchase a large one and to save her from herself I manage half.

The flight backs out a couple of minutes early. Word has got around that we are on the flight and nobody has ventured to have seat 3d next to us. Nice view of the Austrian Alps and have enjoyed the whole thing and everything is going well and we see Mykonos and are on our final approach and then the pilot says we have pulled out of it as the limit for wind speed on Mykonos is 20 knots and presently it is gusting at 33 knots. We have to circle. The forecast I had seen was suggesting that the winds were to worsen, so I had visions of us going into Athens which would have been a pain. Well after circling for 20 mins in we come. The plane moves in the wind but, we land safely. As we get off an Agean plane comes in and that bounces on one wheel! All a little unnerving.

We are met at the airport By Marietta didnt he used to play for Middlesbro? Anyway this is a girl and in a few minutes we arrive at Vana Holidays and are offered a choice of rooms. Lovely rooms overlooking the sea. We are also met by their massive dog Lila, she is a great softie though.

We are offered a lift which we accept and go off to Ornos for a drink.Having dispatched the ham sarnies we brought with us. We have a litre of wine and a small bottle of Mythos and are charged 19 e, which I thought was a bit steep. We walk back which takes us about 15 mins.

Pleased to be back on the Greek Islands again!
