Our first morning on Tinos, Jean`s knee still sore. It doesn`t help with climbing the steps. Antonis arrives and provides breakfast. It is rather more basic compared to the spred we had at Vana`s. We have a couple of bread rolls each which aren`t the freshest with ham and cheese slices and a boiled egg. We are given a carton of juice and a bottle of water. There is coffee provided as well.
We set off to walk into town and initially visit the Poseidon and Amfitrite Sanctuary which is adjacent to our rooms
.
It is then off to town. We enquire if there are any island tours, no. But, there is a bus to Pigros which is thought to be about the best village. Nice run on the small bus through the island and Pigros is a very pleasant village. We have a coffee and decide to leg it down to Panoramas which is about 3k away and down on the coast, loads of wildflowers. Quiet spot, a few tavernas and a small beach. Have a coffee, coke and a cheese and onion sandwich charged only 5 euros, quite a bargain.Bus arrives and takes us back to Tinos Town at quite a pace and neither of us feel great when we get off.
Walk back to our rooms and go to a nearby taverna which I had seen mentioned on TA and Antonis said was good, called Tsampia. We had a good meal again sharing a salad and Jean having her usual chicken and fries, I had Iman.
Pleasant day.
