The Argentine side of the waterfalls

Foz de Iguacu, State of Parana, Brazil
Today we flew out of Buenos Aires on to Iguazu which is right on the border with Brazil and home to the world's widest waterfalls. It was straight off the plane and on to the National Park. We had to get this funny toy town style train then followed the trails to see the different waterfalls. They were spectacular. There was a chance to go on a boat to go through one if the waterfalls but I'm not very good when it comes to boats so I gave it a miss. I did go right down to the basin though - all 300 steps of it and climb all the way back up. The guide said the total length of the walk today was 5km. Not much but it was 35 degrees with humidity at over 90% and those steps. Taking all that into account I think I did quite a bit of exercise today!

There were hundreds of butterflies there and vultures flying around the top of the waterfalls . I saw monkeys too but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture. They have Tucans too but I didn't see any today.

After all that it was off to another hotel. Only for 1 night and it's quite posh. It's got a pool too so I'll be swimming first thing in the morning outside. The only issue I've got is that they've got they're Christmas decorations up. That is just plain wrong.

Tomorrow we go to see the Brazilian side of the waterfalls. Like to you cam walk right down to the bottom but there's a lift to take you back up. Surely that's cheating??

I've tried to add a video of one of the waterfalls but I'm not sure if it's worked. If it doesn't I've put some on Facebook.

We will then be flying to the final destination of the tour - Rio! I can hardly believe that this monster of a trip is nearly over. I'm going to need a holiday to get over it!!
