Tokyo, Kanto, Japan
Day 5.12th May 2016. Thursday.

Breakfast at the Sheraton was pretty amazing and we took our time and we had our fill . As we were headed out to the park for the day, we met Farhat, Imran and their kids! They had just arrived from the airport and were yet to check in. We agreed to meet up at the park later in the day, if we could get in touch with each other.

Then, we were off on the bus and the monorail, back to the Tokyo Disneyland Park. Again, as we entered, we saw Pinocchio and a weird looking lion and took pictures with them. And again, just like yesterday, the boys were less impressed than I was! The pictures prove it, I'm grinning like an idiot while the boys have their deadpan faces on. Anyway, then we walked through World Bazaar, and this time, we took the left into Adventureland. We skipped by the Pirates of the Carribean ride as Zane didn't really like it last night, and headed straight to the Jungle Cruise. It was hot, really hot and already the kids were looking bothered. There was a bit of a queue but it was in a shaded area and moving quickly and soon we were on our way. The boys enjoyed the ride very much . There was a group of Japanese school kids in our boat and the whole time, there was this one girl that took a fascination for Godwin. It was really funny because she kept hi-fiveing him. Like literally every five minutes. We were amused.

Then it was off to stand in another lineup for the Western River Railroad, a steam train ride that Zane was thrilled about. The train took a nice slow ride through some jungle like areas with fake people and fake animals but Zane loved it (although Zach looked a bit bored). We skipped the Enchanged Tiki Room (next one was in Japanese) and the Swiss Family Treehouse (the boys were hot and not interested) in favour of eating Mickey ears shaped sandwich icecream while Godwin ran to score fastpasses to Big Thunder Mountain that the boys were suddenly interested in doing. Then Zane wanted popcorn, and the map said the area we were in was one of the only areas that had salted popcorn. Yes, there are designated popcorn area that serve weird flavours of popcorn (caramel, soy sauce & butter, curry, milk chocolate, honey), none of which Zane likes, so I thought I'd better pick up the salted one for him while we were in the vicinity.

While we waited for our fastpasses to become valid, we thought we'd do the Mark Twain Riverboat, which again the boys seemed bored with. After we got off, Grandma suddenly had a craving for a smoked turkey leg that a lot of people were eating as they walked, so Godwin went to pick up one for her and then, while she sat in the shade and relished it, we went to ride the Big Thunder Mountain! This is a massive hit with the boys, thrilling, adrenaline pumping action that they absolutely loved. We took a bathroom break after we got off, and then Godwin decided to go score fastpasses for Star Tours and check on grandma while the boys and I headed over to Tom Sawyer Island on the rafts. We found a nice place to sit and chill for a while (actually I was sitting and chilling, the boys were climbing up and down the rocks around me) when we saw a little girl dressed as Rey from Star Wars and thus began the quest to search for Jedi outfits for Zane. The drinking water fountain and the rope bridge also were big hits with the boys.

Then, we left Grandma in her piece of shade and headed to the Star Tours. We needn't have bothered with the fastpasses, there was hardly anyone lined up. So of course the boys had to do it three times! And then they were hungry, so we headed to Pan Galactic Pizza Port for some much needed fuel. Zane was tired by then, so I took him for a rest room and then found some benches in a nice shaded area to let him nap. I people watched while he napped, and it was very very interesting. People here are so enthusiastic about Disney what with the matching outfits and the weird head gears. While Zane napped, Godwin took Grandma and Zach over to Fantasyland where he did Peter Pans Flight, Snow White's Adventures and Pinocchio's Daring Journey.

When Zane woke up, we gave him a snack and a drink, found a nice place for him and Grandma and Godwin to park themselves to watch the electrical parade, and then Zach and I went to go Splash Mountain because Godwin had got us 5 fastpasses and they were due. We entered the fastpass queue and this is when I realised how popular this ride it. There were loads and loads of people waiting in the regular queue with a waiting time of over an hour! We walked past a lot of people till we got to the end of our queue and we still had to wait about 10 minutes to get on the ride. This was the first time Zach did Splash Mountain, so he was a little scared but once it was done, he loved it! And of course he wanted to do it again. Sigh. So back into the fastpass queue, walking past a million people and back onto the ride. By the time we finished and got back to where Zane and Grandma were, the parade was finished. Zane ran to us as if we had left him for days. By now the they were hungry so we headed to Captain Hook's Galley for some pizzas and found a place out in the balcony with a view of the castle to see the fireworks. The strawberry cheesecake with Mickey ears shaped chocolate was yum but the boys didn't fancy it. Oh well their loss, I ate it all. The boys weren't as thrilled as I was to see them. Godwin took his camera and went close to the castle to get better pictures. And then we bumped into Farhat Imran and the kids. It was nice to catch up and the kids had a nice time running around causing a bit of chaos.

After the fireworks display was done, we all decided to head back together. It had been a really long and tiring day.
