Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India
It rained most of the night and we awoke to more rain, wind and cold.
What a wonderful change from the heat we experienced since arriving in India .
Despite the rain the boats with the traders appeared again. Jewels, sweaters, fabrics and shawls galore.
Not a bad way to spend a rainy morning.
We also had some new guests staying in a room at the back of Ashraf's house. Three young Korean backpackers.
In fact today we've seen more non Indian tourists than the whole time we've been here. Americans, Taiwanese, Israelis, Russians and now Koreans.
In the afternoon we visited a papier mâché workshop and a wood carving/ furniture establishment. The papier mâché process was fascinating and the showroom like Aladdin's cave.
The wood carvings were intricate and beautiful. I am very much tempted to buy a nested set of tables.
