Kyōto-shi, Kyōto-fu, Japan
We are real tourists now.

With map in hand we wandered around Pontocho and Gion, the two geisha and entertainment districts . Full of old buildings, little shops, restaurants and people (some dressed up in traditional dress). Lots of atmosphere and fun.

Late afternoon we we went to for a tea ceremony and to watch a show at then Ponto-cho Kaburen-jo Theater. The show is called "Kamogawa Ogiori" performed by Geiko (geisha) and Maiko (apprentice geisha). It was colourful and interesting even though we didn't understand the dialogue and didn't know the story.
As expected we were not allowed to take photographs.

After the show we went in search of a suitable restaurant or bar for a drink of sake and a bite to eat.
We found a tiny bar where we had a great time with friendly staff and a couple of Japanese patrons. Even though we couldn't converse the Japanese gentleman bought us both a dish of tofu that he felt was especially good and we later returned the compliment and bought him his next drink.
So a good time was had by all.
