Stranger danger? I think not....

Bangkok, Thailand
Ignoring signposted warnings of "beware wily strangers", David and I found ourselves being taken under the wing of a gentile Thai local (from Chiang Mai) who seemed delighted to help us in exchange for the chance to practice his English. Or at least we hoped that was the only price!

He pointed out a number of not-to-be-missed attractions, such as the Standing Budda, Golden Mount and Grand Palace, as well as a government sponsored tourist office which offered deals for honeymooners (a trend in Bangkok) . And proceeded to call over a tuk tuk and negotiate 35 Baht for the driver to wait for us at each attraction and to be paid at the end (with a 5Baht tip if we were happy). An amazing deal considering most single trips cost 50B. Almost too good to be true... But also too good to refuse.

So, shooting off to our first stop of the day, we experienced our very first tuk tuk ride...and crossed our fingers that we weren't about to get a first-hand look at human trafficking....
