Santa Barbara / Solvang, California, United States

I got up early in morning and got the 5.10 am free shuttle to Lax airport. My tour was picking us up from China Town at 6.40 am and the taxi from my hotel to China Town would cost me $60 so I decided on alternative route.
At Lax airport I waited for the Fly bus cost $7 (I paid with card in London) which arrived 15 mins late but I was early anyway. Fly bus took me to Union station.
On the bus, I met another traveller and we spend the whole time, exchanging travel stories/ tips. After we got off, about 40 mins journey, he paid by card at Union station as the fly bus does not take cash. We walked to the end of the other side of Station and he advised me to take a taxi from Union station to China Town for safety, which I did for only $10 (it took 3 mins by car). Total cost was only $17 so I saved $43 and it was more of an adventure this way.

The tour was catered for Chinese but there were many others who were made very welcome. The guide gave commentary in both Chinese and English, I made friends straight away and after few pick-ups we were on our way to Santa Barbara.
We spent some time at Santa Barbara and we were off to Salvang for lunch.

Salvang – Danish for Sunny Town

Salvang is chocolate box, Danish village and was founded in 1911 by small group of Danish teachers. The city is home to a number of bakeries, restaurants and merchants offering a taste of Denmark in California. The architecture of many of the façades and buildings reflects traditional Danish style. There is a copy of the famous Mermaid statue from Copenhagen, A replica of Copenhagen's Round Tower, Windmill and the bust of famed Danish fable writer Hans Christian Andersen.
Neverland Ranch, Michael Jackson`s 2,700-acre former home lies ten miles to the north and Solvang was his favourite town. I went exploring this pretty little town with windmills, statues horse & carts, bakeries. It almost felt like you were in another world. I had a Subway as there were little choice for Vegetarians, I also bought some cookies and Danish pastry from Solvang Bakery for later.

Then the bus was on the highway and I was lucky to get last 3 free seats at the back so it was time to sleep. I was woken up when we were approaching San Francisco Apple head quarters at Cupertino. I was too sleepy to take any pictures but I did see the buildings.
We stopped at a Chinese buffet place and I told the tour guide that I needed to buy a travel adaptor to charge my I pad and I phone. She told me there was CVS near there and I could buy adaptor while others were having the buffet. But it was much further away and I had to jog back, I quickly grabbed Burrito's from Taco Bell which is my favourite. I know everyone will laugh at my choice but we do not have Taco bell in London and also Mexican restaurants in London are not authentic.

We headed to Citygarden airport motel part of our tour package which was below average with free wifi in the lobby. My room was outdated but clean and I went to sleep immediately as my body clock was on London time.
