Not What It Appeared

Saipan, Northern Mariana Isl.
That title is a cryptic way of saying, "I got sick again!"

Yesterday's achiness can only be partially attributed to Saturday's Hash . Why do I say that? Because I couldn't blame stomach cramps, fever, and diarrhea on running. But it took awhile for it to really set in. Suka and I blame a sashimi rice bowl we had for lunch on Saturday. I ate most of it. She has only had mild symptoms. She's also probably more used to the bugs here in Saipan.

Despite it all, and actually in the process of discovering some of it, we went for a short easy hike yesterday. The purpose was to revisit a couple of the cool locations from the Halloween Hash. And since I've been so negligent about photography this trip, I took some pictures for this entry. Really, I took the pictures because they were memorable locations, but I uploaded them for you all as a bonus. Yes, I'm a little silly sitting at home between stomach cramps right now.

Anyway, this morning I was feeling bad enough to go the doctor. I figure if I didn't do it here, I would wait until next week in the States. He officially declared it gastroenteritis. I'm on liquids today and a BRAT diet tomorrow. His only advice on flying was, "Don't eat the airline food." Probably sage advice, but I don't know if that will work for the 18 hour duration of the return trip.
