Wissam woke me up at 4 am by shaking my hammock, telling me we were arriving at Santarem. Seriously? Unbelievable. Why so early? No idea.

The Turkish lady followed me and honestly she is probably the most dense person I've meet on this trip . She was carrying a ridiculous amount of stuff and seemed not to understand how to walk down the stairs and off the boat. She kept telling me that she was going to wait at the dock for sunrise before she went to alter do chao. And I kept asking her what she was going to wait for. She kept saying she didn't know.

I guess she got fed up with my questions and just walked away without a word. Fine good. I walked to the nearest bus stop and the first bus to stop there was going where I wanted to go. All good.

I followed a Brazilian couple to a bed and breakfast but it seemed a little expensive. So I found another nice place down the street. It wasn't far from the beach and I was just in time for breakfast.

I had breakfast with a lady from Michigan in the process of leaving her crazy Brazilian husband. He had been stalking her at the hotel. She told me about the aboriginal festival that was happening this weekend, so I spent most of the day trying to figure out where everything was happening. Quite frustrating, but interesting anyway.

The fresh water beach was amazing. I really enjoyed the clean feeling from swimming there.

In the afternoon, I saw some archery and ate a late lunch. I took a nap and when I woke up robin the lady from Michigan told me I had to go see the aboriginal dances.

Ok so I wiped my eyes and headed down there, by unlit dirt roads. I could hear the loud music, so I just kept walking, hoping there weren't any panthers in the bushes.
