Blown Away

Wissant, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
In the night we had been disturbed by the arrival of a large French MH and a small white car .They then spent a while chatting while they transferred stuff from the boot of the car into the MH.........
The night before we had noticed an enormous Concord MH - one of the biggest we have seen- as big as a coach or bus.   This morning we were fascinated when the French owner opened the garage at the back, pulled down 2 ramps, backed up the white car ( a Toyota Aygo) and then winched it into the MH.   We had heard of ones like this but never actually seen one.

Today would be the last full day of our holiday, so in order to make the most of it, we decided to use the peage from Cambrai to J3 nr St Omer, then the free motorway to Boulogne and then on to Wissant, the first MH Aire we had stopped at on the way out.
Using the peage meant Rob could relax a bit after driving so many miles, and we could arrive there early enough to have lunch and then a walk on the beach.

After one false start, caught in a shower, the skies brightened and although a strong wind was blowing, we enjoyed a lovely bracing walk along the beach at Wissant.
There were lots of wind surfers taking advantage of the conditions and we spent ages watching them.      As we walked back along the promenade, as we got between 2 buildings an extra strong gust almost blew us over.   In fact a small child walking with his parents was knocked off his feet!!
We got back to the MH for afternoon tea just in time as it started to rain heavily.   It rained on and off all night, with the wind blowing a real hooley, even making the MH rock!!
