Back to german Aires

Remels, Lower Saxony, Germany
After a quiet night at Bredstedt - well, after the Zumba session at the leisure centre had finished!- we set off south again. We passed over the north sea canal and under the Elbe, bypassing Hamburg and on to the madness that is the A1 Autobahn. Most of this road is only 2 lanes and has no speed limit. The big German cars go belting up the outside lane and everything else has to get out of the way - fast!   The traffic was especially heavy on a saturday with everyone starting their holidays.
We skirted Bremen and Oldenberg and made an early stop at an aire at Remels. This is a small town on a canal.   The aire is set out in a circle and costs 5e per night and 1e for 12 hrs electricity.   We went for a walk along the canal and stopped to look at the nice old church - but as usual- it was locked.
