We both felt very sad this morning.   We have had the most fantastic adventures and now it is nearly over.   Although we really want to see our family and friends , we would both easily keep going and carry on down through France to who knows where! We set off for Bergues feeling quite apprehensive about what we would find at Calais, after reading about the strikes and ensuing chaos on the internet ( not that we have had any wifi for days)
We decided to stay overnight at Bergues because it is far enough from the ports to be OK, and is a nice town.   The easiest way to get to Bergues was via Cassel, so we had lunch there and got to Bergues in time to have a nice walk around the ramparts- going the other way this time, seeing bits of the original Vauban fortifications we hadn't seen before.
The Aire was fairly full , with a few Brits.
