Mineral railway and mimosa

Navajas, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands
Running just alongside the campsite and with direct access is the Via Verde de Ojos Negros. This is an old disused mineral railway, part of a much longer cycle/walking track which runs from Sagunto to Teruel.
Although I was not feeling 100% with a cold and cough, at least the cycle track would be fairly level. It was a beautiful day, so we packed our lunch and set off.
We passed the old Navajas station, which was quite a distance from the town.

We soon came to the reservoir, the Pantano de Regajo. We spoke to a couple on the campsite who said they had wild camped here a few years ago.[
We went through 2 tunnels which were quite long but lit, then went over a viaduct, through a cutting and reached an old station for the next town Jerica.
We were passed by a pelaton of Spanish bikers all in multi-coloured lycra.
We passed a group of walkers and then as we approached Jerica there was another old station which had been turned into an Interpretation Centre ( the Spanish are very fond of these!) for the Via Verde.  Unfortunately it was closed, but opposite was a lovely picnic spot with views across to the town of Jerica.
We stopped here for a leisurely lunch and then made our way back to the campsite.

Camping Altomira offers 1 hour per day free wifi in the cafeteria or TV room/ salon.  The cafeteria shuts at 4pm and the salon is a large unheated room, which is often locked in the evening. This means sitting outside in the cold to get wifi!   Wifi on the pitch is expensive and very unreliable - hence the absence of photos on the blog until now!
We have had 2 lovely sunny days, but as we are up in the hills the evenings and early mornings are quite cold and it takes a while to warm up.
