A day at the Holocaust Museum

Washington, District of Columbia, United States
98°! (record hi making it the 8th day over 95!) The dew point was 75% on hazy day..

I spent the entire day @ the Holocaust Museum. I also did a bit of research in their archives. Before I went to the museum I got off the metro at the mall and went to the Washington monument and purchased a ticket for the last tour, which was at 4:30pm. After that I walked over to the north side of the reflecting pond of the Jefferson Memorial and grabbed a nice pan shot of the memorial with overhanging leaves framing the dome with Jefferson silhouetted in the his abode.

After doing a bit of research in the archives about Lviv and our name in the registered survivors list and coming up empty handed, I went over to the Washington Monument at 4:30p and went up to the top. It is absolutely great views since you can look east up the mall to the Capital and west to the reflecting pool, Lincoln Monument and Lee's mansion in Arlington Cemetery.

Also visited the large (6 room) exhibit of Jackie Kennedy clothes and assories at the Corcoran. She enjoyed immensely. Had a nice lunch their in the great main hall.

We spent the evening out and had a BBQ chicken meal with relatives in Virginia.
