Ten more hours to California!

Salt Lake City, Utah, United States
Holy Rocky Mountains! We've been driving like maniacs today to make it to California. We stayed overnight in Salt Lake City and woke up to find ourselves surrounded by the towering Rocky Mountains.

We were pretty blown away that the mountains we were staring at were the ones we'd actually driven over in the dark the night before .

On our way out of town, we went swimming in the Great Salt Lake. We wanted to see if our bodies would be held up in the water as people say b/c of the salt. We were pretty excited to find out it did!

Cool facts: An ocean is 3 percent salt in the water. The Great Salt Lake is 12 percent salt!

The Great Salt Lake is not connected to any ocean, but fed by rivers, mountain run off, streams, and ground water. When the water evaporates it leaves a high concentration of salt and other minerals.
