We visited with Amelia Baxter, the owner of Whole Tree Architecture and one of the staff architects. We were also lucky to spend some time with Derek who has worked for Whole Tree for many years building and creating unique whole tree pieces for homes out of Whole Trees forest. Amelia gave us a tour of the first houses Roald built and lived in and we discussed their approach to building.
We were excited to see Roald's cool A frame built entirely with Whole Trees - this A frame has a straw bale roof as well and is beautiful
. We also got to check out the attached greenhouse, two story office building, workshop and extensive gardens.
Amelia was very engaging and convinced Glenn 'if Roald can build these buildings, so can you!' Now full disclosure here - Roald is also Amelia's husband!
Whole Tree Architecture is truly an innovative, green company. Check out their site here: www.wholetrees.com
