After a very early start (there really should only be one 4o'clock in a day) we had a very stress free journey - no queues at Manchester or Naples airports.

Taxi to hotel was definitely an experience our driver didn't give way to anyone, got lost & was inches away from a collision with a scooter - most of this while driving down narrow streets too fast & on the phone, but amazingly we got to the hotel in one piece .

Our hotel Il Convento is lovely - it's in the Spanish Quarter, lots of tiny narrow streets & washing hanging out, just as we imagined.

Went for a wander, it's crazily busy. Found the funicular & went up to Castel St Elmo which had amazing views over Naples, Vesuvius & Capri. Little nap & then lovely pizza & too much red wine at little restaurant not too far from hotel now back for an early night ready for more exploring tomorrow.
