"Midsummer" and very Quiet

Helsinki, Finland
We have arrived on the Midsummer long Weekend - this means everyone has left the city to us  It also means a lot of restaurants and shops are shut.
We explored by the no 7 bus and enjoyed the harbour side  markets, before taking a harbour cruise - the Helsinki Archipelago is stunning and the weather held out for us - we could see the locals BBQing at their holiday houses, building the traditional bonfire that has to be lit tomorrow  and stoking their waterside Saunas ready for a cosy long week end.
Luckily we have chosen a divine hotel - the Katajonnoka  - an old Jail. we are in the luck room - as it is the room the inmates spend their last night before release.  It has a superb restaurant on site - would love to stay longer.
