Surat to St George . The Surat Cob & Co museum is a worth a look, a good reminder of life in those times and how tough it must have been in the bush. We bought some lamb from the local butcher, for a curry tonight, before setting out to drive the 115 Kms to St George.

Arriving at lunch time we chose the wonderfully located, well run Kamarooka Tourist park for our 1 night stay. Glenda & Neil run one of the friendliest parks with some of the best amenities we have encountered.

After doing a load of washing, and putting all electronics on charge, we strolled into town, our first stop was the Unique Egg Museum - run by a friendly Greek Guy called Stavros. He carves Emu eggs, which have as many as 7 or 8 layers of different colors - they are lit up and really show off the carvings. Apparently this is the only carved Emu egg exhibition in the world. Very impressive and worth the $3 entry fee, which includes an entertaining Guided tour by Stavros, who explains the various events that most of the eggs commemorate .

St George is on the banks of the Balonne river and is a pretty country town, with most essential needs available.

Back at camp, we joined the other campers at the nightly BYO happy hour around the camp fire.

Another glorious day dawned so we decided to extended our stay at Kamarooka.
We all spent a lovely lazy morning reading, emailing, blogging and chatting to fellow campers. In the afternoon we strolled and rode along the river bank, stopping to use the outdoor gym equipment kindly set up by the town - then it was the nightly happy hour, which included some entertainment by a Fijian guy Moses & his wife Abi - who sang well known songs that we could all sing along to and some Fijian classics.
