Nindigully Pub on the Moonie River

Thallon, Queensland, Australia
This is the home of the 5kg hamburger ($60) - free if you can eat it by yourself !
The pub has free camping with showers and toilets, happy hour with $2 .50 beers, and fantastic food - a campers delight.

Before leaving St. George we visited the Riversands winery for morning tea ( too early even for wine "tasting") - the locals told us how the 3 floods in 3 years had effected the winery, as well as the town, and then to top it off the winery lost one million dollars worth of stock in the Ballandean fire (Ballandean make the Riversands wines).

It's only 44kms from St George to Nindigully, so we arrived by lunch time - and found 2 nice flat spots with a river view, and not far from the pub. They have built a short walkway along the river bank, so we explored that as well as the pub, and had a beer of course.

We returned to the pub at around 5pm for the happy hour along with most of the other campers (30-40 RV's.by then), just goes to show how you can make an old pub in the middle of nowhere popular. We stayed for dinner - the meals are huge so Sue & Tony shared a rack of lamb and Marg & Tony shared a mixed grill, both delicious.

The night was fairly chilly and the stars some of the best we have seen.
