Apsley Gorge - gorgeous

Walcha, New South Wales, Australia
Excuse the pun, but it is truly a gorgeous spot. Sealed 1km off the main road between Walcha and Wauchope - before the really windy bit. The camp site is in a national park, right on the edge of the gorge. Walk ways along the gorge with lookouts, bridges, a stairway and small cantilevered platforms make this a magic spot. The waterfall is 65m high and well worth a detour to look at it. You can park virtually at it, if you don't want to walk from the camping spot or the picnic area.

The camp site is very well organized with nice designated camping areas, most have a picnic table and fire pit ($5 per person honesty system) . The amenities are spotless, flushing toilets housed in a wooden cabin style building. Water is not potable and there are no showers. Plenty of Wildlife visits. The night temperature was the coldest on this trip so far.
