Day 2: Munich City Center

Friday, September 18, 2015
Munich, Bavaria, Germany
Today started out a little slow. Manu came over with bread and sliced meats for breakfast. She then made some coffee while I took a picture of the birds on her bird feeder. Ade went to pick up his daughter Jessica so they could meet up with us later. After breakfast Manu and the rest of us headed out to the subway so we could look around the city center.
The middle of downtown Munich has the Glockenspiel (City clock) which is very nice . we looked around at many shops and then looked for a place to have coffee and rest for a bit. I ordered a mango smoothie because I was feeling a little dehydrated. Afterward we split up with Miah and Jessica going their own way.
We looked at many shops and Bonnie bought an Octoberfest top. We then tried to get a table at the famous Hofbrauhaus ( German eatery with an Oompah band), but it was too crowded with Octoberfest people having a good time. I stopped to take a picture of the band and then we left for a little better place. We ended up at a place that served Monkey beer as Ade called it. A dark beer that is 18% alcohol. It was soooo good even the Bavarian Gnome had to have some. I ordered Pork roast with sauerkraut, potato pancakes and dark gravy. After lunch I couldn't resist another Monkey beer...go figure???
Around this time Miah and Jessica met up with us and gave me a surprise. Miah got another Tattoo... with the symbols for the lyric of a band I called "The Front Bottoms". We finished up lunch and then Manu took Jessica back home with Miah tagging along
We spent the rest of the afternoon looking at shops and I bought a bleach pen for my Laderhosen top. It got stained from a leather patch getting wet. Ade drove us back to Manu's apartment and I cleaned my shirt with the bleach pen I bought. We sat around and had a few beers waiting for Manu to get back with Miah.
Miah arrived and showed us the Dirndl ( Octoberfest dress ) that Manu bought her from the local mall. It was very nice. We all then headed over to Han's house for dinner.
We had German pizza and wine for dinner. I took some pictures of Han's house... he has many paintings and most are from 1880- 1910 period. We talked for awhile about life and by then it was late so we went back to Manu's.
Tomorrow I can finally wear my Laderhosen as we are invited to Rita's house in Muhldorf (Manu's friend) for a celebration.
