Desmond did great on his first ever airplane flight. He was excited to see the lights of the airport before take off, slept till decent and then woke up to get his wings (and a cup!) from the flight attendant. We were flying first class right up by the bulkhead so we had plenty of room. Yay airline points!

Unfortunately, when we landed we learned that our flight to D .C. had been canceled. So, we ended up having quite the layover this early morning. We used free passes to the United Club and were able to eat a hot complimentary breakfast and enjoy some relative quiet before boarding our next flight. This delay will mean we miss our tour of the Supreme Court that was planned for today, which is a bummer. And we will be even more in need of a nap when we get to our hotel, but so far so good.
