Anchorage, Alaska, United States
We woke way too early (despite arriving after one in the morning) because of the time change. We were happy to find that it was overcast, sprinkling off-and-on and a very pleasant temperature. We got ready for the day, played on our phones for a but and then lay back down for a nap.

When we got up the second time people were up and about and we had a good visit over breakfast and planned our day .

We got photos of Desmond with his monkey since he turns 10 months old today.

Keaton and Jackie went with us to The Sourdough Mining Company for lunch. Desmond fell asleep in the car and slept on my lap until food came. Then we walked across the parking-lot to the Chocolate Factory and saw the chocolate waterfall. Bryan picked out some chocolate covered marshmallows that he remembered having enjoyed when we were here four years ago. My cousin Makayla joined us at that point. After she and Desmond had been introduced, we all went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Mather (my paternal grandparents).

This was the reason we really wanted to make it up to Alaska this year, so that Desmond could meet his great grandparents. It prompted the whole trip. We had a nice visit with them and took lots of pictures.

Afterward we came back to the Evans' house. And from there we took a walk to Cheney Lake Park. It was a beautiful sunny evening. I was shocked to find that shortly after we got home it was 10:00pm! The sun was still far above the horizon.

We said our good nights and headed to bed shortly after.
