Moose and Ukulele

Today was another fun day spent with family. We drove out to Point Woronzof to walk long the water. Desmond had fallen asleep in the car on the way there. I was beyond excited that I was able to transfer him into the carrier on Bryan's back without waking him (a first). As we walked along however, a huge jet plane came over the bluff directly above us. Needless to say, THAT woke him up! We had fun with panoramic silliness and watching the planes buzz overhead and then started thinking about lunch.

On our way to the restaurant we got to see a moose and her baby leaving the road for the trees on the side . Moose sighting? Check! (Now I feel like we've actually made it to Alaska.)

Jackie treated us to lunch at Table 6. There was chowder, soup and Thai chicken on noodles to be had. Yum! My meal was so aesthetically pleasing I took a pic to share with you all.

After that we went to the Farmer's Market. It has a different feel than ours. There weren't any farmers, as near as I could tell. It seemed more like an outdoor gift shop. I found a pair of earrings I liked, but they were made in Vermont, not Alaska, so I passed. Keaton found himself a hand dipped ice cream bar that looked pretty amazing. But I had gotten some cookie dough yesterday, so I didn't mind missing out on that knowing there were going to be fresh-baked cookies soon.

I made cookies when we got back home. Those hit the spot. I also updated this journal and did some puzzles (similar to tangegrams) out of Carl's basket of tricks.

Pretty soon everyone was here again and we generally enjoyed razzing each other and giving one another a bad time until dinner. We kept talking about playing a game, but it never really happened.

Dinner was delicious and another first for Desmond. We had ribs, corn on the cob, cherries and Katie's garlic bread. It was a feast! Desmond enjoyed his first rib, and I took lots of pictures, of course.

After dinner Carl flew his small quadcopter for Desmond's amusement. Desmond also got to take a bath, which he enjoyed a great deal. Then Makayla taught me how to play a song on her ukulele while everyone had dessert. It was fun!
