First Night in London

London, England, United Kingdom
This afternoon we arrived in Heathrow airport in London. We bought our Oyster cards and got on the tube to take us to our hotel. Since London is an expensive city to stay in, we had booked ourselves a hotel room using points (Hooray for getting the 5th night free). Before we knew it, warm cookies in hand, we were on our way up to our room at the DoubleTree Tower of London.
After we had freshened up from our trip, we ventured out to walk around and find some dinner.  The location of the hotel seems excellent.  We are right by the Tower of London and it was a short walk to the Tower Bridge to cross over to the South Bank of the Thames.
We wandered along the riverfront snapping pictures and taking in the sights. We saw a bar serving cider that looked tasty and could enjoyed outside as you stroll along, but since I was already dizzy from a bit of jet lag, we just made a mental note and opted to find food first.
We went to Cathedral Street in the Borough Market to a place called simply “Fish!” and got ourselves a halibut fish and chips to share. Then we meandered back, eating it as we sat by the Thames. It was quite enjoyable. Next we got that cider we’d been eyeing and drank it as we headed back towards the bridge.
On and off we played Pokémon Go and managed to snag a number of reginal Pokémon that we won’t ever see at home. So that was fun, too.
We made it back to our hotelroom and managed to stay more or less awake until about nine. We are hoping having arrived in the afternoon will make adjusting to the time change easier. We will see!

I love that it says "Winner, Winner Fish and Chips Dinner." For that alone, you must of course eat there! I hope you get good sleep to hit the ground running tomorrow. Also, I forgot to text you, Brew Dog's, Brew Punk IPA or the Elvis one by Brew Dog are the ones that I would love a can of if there's room in the pack.
