The big event for the day was Zach and Kelley's wedding. The day was primary occupied interacting with family members, telling tales, catching up, eating and drinking. Most all of the pictures I took were of family and friends and not of the scenery and architecture normally posted to my travel blog. I have created an on-line album of my wedding photos. If you are interested, contact me. Therefore, this post will limit its photos to mostly the places and sights we saw.
Praying that the rain would not fall, we walk to the cobblestone street location where we catch a chartered bus to the Sankaty Head Beach Club where the wedding ceremony will be performed. This beautiful venue is on the far side of the island facing windward into the Atlantic Ocean. Following a simple and tasteful ceremony, we re-board the bus and head to the Sankaty Head Golf Club where the wedding reception is held. The golf club view of the sunset and Sankaty Lighthouse are magnificent. Lots of photos are taken of friends and family.
In addition to the open bar, there is also an open raw bar. We enjoyed many of the fresh, delicious raw oysters offered. Unfortunately, I did not obtain their region of origin. The full dinner was great, the music was fantastic and the dancing was fun for me to watch and videotape.
