Seward to Anchorage

Seward, Alaska, United States
This entry has some random shots from around the ship and represent our last night on board. The picture of Casey and I was taken on the bow! Really! Trust me. Perhaps you are too trusting?

We dock in Seward at some godly hour of the morning and the delights of the trip abruptly end . No breakfast, get off the ship, get on the train, its 6am, move out! This is probably the only thing I would do differently. The very early train back was a bit abrupt. Not sure what my options were. Thought this would be the most relaxing and romantic. It was definitely relaxing. Casey slept most all the way into Anchorage.

Train station is at the airport. How convenient. Bummer is that most flights leave around midnight and it is not even lunch yet. We can't check our bags into the flight due to early checking limits. We pay to store our bags at the airport and grab a taxi to Anchorage. Luckily, I have done some work in Anchorage and I know exactly where to go for Lunch. The female taxi driver disagrees and attempts to become our best friend explaining why Alaska is so lonely for women. Very lonely. Desperately lonely for friends, conversation and anything that has nothing to do with hunting moose. Despite her several other recommendations, we have a great lunch and meander the streets of Anchorage soon running out of things to do waiting for our flight.

Again, I would probably have done this a bit different if I would have known how tired and bored I would have been in Anchorage today. But, all is good. Our redeye leaves on time and we arrive back home the next day.
