Gatlinburg, Tennessee, United States
Rising well before the crack of dawn, the Threatte's venture out at 6am heading for the Great Smokey Mountains gateway in Tennesee.

Dolly Parton greets Jim at the Tennessee border tourist information center . She sings gently in his ear, "Remember to visit Dollywood while you are in Gatlinburg".

Gatlinburg is the “Gateway to Great Smoky Mountains National Park”. The Smokies are America's most visited national park. Heavily forested peaks rise more than 5,000 feet and there are over 2,100 miles of rivers and streams that create “soothing water music” as you picnic and stroll.

Our “rustic” cabin in the Smokies is located about 15 miles outside of Gatlinburg. Check out our pictures of the rustic Livin’ room, rustic master bedroom , rustic sittin’ room - Oh Deer!, and of course, Casey already working in the Kitchen. The back porch and our fabulous view are the features that made this my choice. Yes, it is overcast on our day of arrival with heavy mists over the mountains. Makes them look, well kind of “Smokey”.

First things, first, Casey hangs her brand new Hummingbird feeder and Jim gets busy grilling the marinating beef Casey packed for the journey down. Delicious!
