We left Green River at 7:20 am. Green River is off the 70 fwy in the middle of nowhere. There didn't seem to be a lot going on although there was an event called Melon Days coming up on the weekend. The Main Street was lined with empty store fronts and businesses that didn't make it. It's almost as if the 70 fwy that bypasses it, caused the town's demise. But it did provide weary travelers with places to park your RV.
As we drove west we saw lots of rock piles, rock formations and mesas. Eventually the rock became a red color and was very beautiful.
We drove past the Moab turnoff and by 10:06 am we were turning south on I 15.
Stopped at Love's for fuel outside Vegas. 40.466 gals @ 3.089/gal total $126.00.
Arrived at Oasis RV Resort Las Vegas by 2:00 pm Pacific Time so we gained an hour. $52.88/night with Good Sam discount. They had given out all the Passport America sites at 50% off - new information to us.
105 degrees here and the RV a/c can't keep up - 91 degrees inside until the sun sets.
Brian and Anita MacKenzie are here but we couldn't work out a time to get together and we're leaving early tomorrow morning.
