Friday, August 16, 2019
Cow Head, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
After orientation we departed for Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We followed the Viking Trail 430.
We had lunch at The Old Loft Restaurant in Woody Point and then a stop at the Discovery Centre in Woody Point where we picked up a docent and learned about geology of the area including The Tablelands which were part of the earth’s crust/ mantle and pushed up when the earth’s plates moved.
Then back to the hotel The Shallow Bay in Cowhead for a welcome dinner. This is also where we started our photographic scavenger hunt.
