Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
We took another scenic drive along the rocky coast to Twillingate which is one of Newfoundland’s oldest fishing communities.  Before we got there we stopped at Crow Head to see a beautiful ocean view with a very old root cellar. We had lunch at the Penguin in Twillingate. After lunch we paid a visit to the Auk Island Winery. The wines are made from island berries and some with iceberg water. This is where Murray bought our Ugly Stick, we stopped for pictures of the beautiful Twillingate Harbor. Atter that was a washroom break at the Gander International Airport. There was a piece of steel of the destroyed NYC World Trade Center on display. We stopped in Gambo at Joey’s Lookout, a tribute to Joey Smallwood, the first Premier of Newfoundland and he was largely responsible for Newfound joining confederation of Canada in 1949.
We arrived in Clarenville at our hotel - the Quality Hotel. We had a salmon dinner there. Clarenville was mainly known for logging, farming and trapping.
