Port Huron, Michigan, United States
Left London around 9:00 am. Took a little over an hour to cross the border at Port Huron.
US border crossings are always fun. Got a lady border agent(don’t go there!) who asked us about 20 questions: where you going, where you coming from, whose RV, whose trailer, what’s in the trailer, who owns the motorcycle, what else is in the trailer, why you in CA, do you have fruit and vegetables on board, named a few for her, she made Nancy go open the fridge and name them, she could not hear so she made me turn off engine, she came into RV with plastic bag in hand and went to the fridge and made Nancy throw in 1/2 our veggies, final left and said you can go now. She also had a large pylon by her window so no one could get close to her window. While avoid this I clipped my mirror on the next kiosk. Spun mirror around but all is ok. Had to back up, she moved pylon so I could get thru. This is after waiting in line for a little over a hour.
Not one hint of a smile on her face, no welcome home, etc. do I look like terrorist(no comments).
Then we hit the i 69 with more potholes than any other Hwy in the world.
Welcome back!
Yes I69 is like a washboard.
We arrived at the Harvest Hosts, Country Mill Orchard farm around 3:00 pm after getting some groceries at Walmart in Lapeer, MI.
Harvest Hosts camping is free once you paid a membership fee of $49. You are expected to buy something or patronize them in some way. It’s strictly boon docking with no power, water or septic. We got along fine with just our propane for cooking and streamed Below Deck with our iPad. Life is good! We slept well.
The farm was closed being a Monday but the owner said we could just pull in and park.
