The day in Lagos

Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria
Today was a much welcome slower day. I was able to sleep in a bit longer, and since I have plenty of granola bars with me (thank you Mary!!) I just made coffee in my room and got around without having to go down to the restaurant.
Cody had work to do in his room, and I did too. So I handled a number of emails and such until about noon. Then I went down to Cody’s room and we went to the hotel restaurant for lunch.
This afternoon was more working in the room – and I have to admit, a short nap which felt wonderful! And about 4 pm as promised Nandom and Beverly Vonshili, the only baptized members we currently have in Lagos, arrived for a visit. We all went out to a pool-side table for a very enjoyable visit and something to eat. I’ve not had the chance to meet the Vonshili’s before, and I really enjoyed hearing their story, how she grew up in the Church, and how God called him. He said Mr. Franks was here in 2005, and at the same Sabbath service where he heard and met Mr. Franks he also met Beverly. And the rest, as they say, is history!
After a very enjoyable visit, and working on a couple of details that will help them, they started back for home. Cody and I were able to visit a bit more, and then I headed back to my room to finish the last few things, pack my suitcase as much as I can tonight and get prepared for an early morning. The driver we have reserved to take us to the airport recommended that because of potential traffic problems we leave the hotel by 6:30 am, so we’ll be ready. If everything is on time, we should be in Benin City before noon for the next leg of our trip.
