Death Valley National Park, California, United States
Got into Furnace Creek campground and it was HOT! Just enjoyed the spot for the rest of the day and met a great couple Mike and Julie. $12 per night. Ice is about $6 with tax. Gas is $5.50 per gal. Fill up before you come.

Next morning off to Scotty's Castle !! All I can say is wow . It really is nice and you need all day to look it over . We brought a lunch and took the tours. Very interesting and lovely.
Left about 4pm and the wind was starting up but not really bad.............yet

The closer we got back to Funace Creek the harder the wind blew. It was blowing 4inch rocks across the road!!

Was going to take pictures of the borax flats but the wind had it so whipped up all you seen was a white cloud.

Roy was doing a bit of speeding, he was really worried about the upright position of our camper.
As we were coming into the campground seen a tent on the wrong side of the road all torn up and flapping in the sagebrush.

Roys thinking ooh we left stuff outside , he's sure we are in trouble. As we come in the awning on one camper is torn beyond repair tents are down. We are okay. yippee!! He was so relieved.
Our cook table and chairs were across the road and one space over. Our rug was two rows over and as I was bringing it back almost couldn't walk forward the wind was pushing me back so hard.

Now to make it thru the night. Parked the pickup behind the camper to try to block some of the wind. Man, can it howl!! Rattled everything including our nerves. But the camper held. Wind finally let up about 12pm. Then we slept.

Up at 5am the wind was blowing abit but we weren't going to wait around and see if it picked up.
Folded everything down and headed out to Lonepine Ca
