We wanted the beach and that's exactly what we got!

now. I know we are not the most exciting couple but even we need just a little something.

the beach is white sand and nice but bland .

 There is a very good cafe and Roy went all out Thai for supper and

  ordered fishermans soup. If you don't look at the suction cups the soup looks good. 

He wasn't sure what part you ate and what was in it for flavoring!!

He loved it ! And he's still alive this morning.  

We have had the most wonderful cheap rooms, spotlessly clean comfortable rooms,

  refrigerator, micro in most of them . Wonderful firm beds. We have been so spoiled.

all good things must end.....".............. We stayed at the Albatross ( that should have been first

  warning sign). Walked in and really nice. Big room free wifi (Roy). Refrigerator. Firm bed clean 


cool we are set!

roy turns on TV ...nope ....we go down. She says only Thai channels anyway we don't

  need.....so....ok we are only here 2days ,we can live with that.  So back up to room. Roy

  decides he will look on Internet ..........nope........down he goes. Now we can pickup two of the

  hotels close by.......hummmmmm.......she says she doesn't know why we can't pick up her

  hotel.....hmmm.  


Ok we we are only here two days... We go for long walks on beach. It is peaceful and tho nothing

  really special it's ok . Along the streets are the shops both store front and open. Homes some

  poorer most average. Open air cafes all over, and lots of street food . Not much for business

  this time of year seen maybe 10 foreigners .

i think we must have lost easily 10 pounds during the night we got so much exercise .  

I said the bed was firm....NOT!

it was miserable . There was maybe 1/32nd inch of padding between the springs and Us, they

  forgot the mattress when they said box spring and mattress.

Roy said it felt like we slept on a bed of ropes!

our back sides I'm sure looked like we had been rolling around on a waffle iron.

but we are only here TWO days!

Night 2?...........laid there for about an hour and I just couldn't do this ,,my back hurt so bad I had

  to use my arms to push me over to my side. 

I got up and went sneaking around the other motel room. I knew we were the only ones

  there. They put these really nice duvets on each bed and they are fluffy! But they only give

  you one , so I go out to the other room and confiscate one. Perfect ours is a mattress pad and

  we covered up with the other. Ahhh sleep at last!

CHUMPHON

New place

we had seen taxis go by all the time we were here so we knew we just had to stand out and wait

  for awhile.. Now remember.....in Thailand these are Toyota pickups. They have bench seats in

  the back.

   They come along and toot their horn if you want a ride you put your hand out and

  they stop , you crawl into the back and off you go.. They stop and pick up more and more

  people along the route. We ended up with 18. Four of them hanging on the back.

the driver was having a hard time steering the pickup cause his front end was so light due to the

  load in the back.

we thought he was going to bring us to the hotel so was a bit confused when he pulls up to a stop

  and everyone piles out . He just points his finger down the street and I guess we walk from here,

now if you are traveling the world , there are two apps that come in really handy...the first is  

  Map.me.com put your address in and press route .......wala you can see where your going. I

  think this is only for apples tablet, But found out google map also works in Thailand.

We had not really used this much to this point and I was trying to figure out how it works..well, if 

the arrow is not moving don't keep walking....... It likes to hesitate and by the time the arrow

  catches up we had walked about 6 blocks we would not have had to. So back tracking. 

Finally found our wonderful hotel. Hehehe. The mattress is great we made sure!  




We found an awesome buffet half a block away.

they put cork on your table. Then they bring a pot with burning charcoal like small logs.

they then put a pan on top of it and. Add water. There is a hump in the middle . You go over o this

  buffet of all kinds of raw meat , vegetables You grab a basket add all your vegetables. Grab a

  plate of raw meat and go back to your table. You put all raw vegetables around in the water

  then lay the raw meat on top of the rounded cone. While your waiting for it to cook you go back

  to the buffet and get you cooked noodle, rice, mushrooms and anything else you want.. So. So

  much fun. We had to ask a lady that spoke a few English words , how everything worked. Then

  went to her table to watch.

will know how to do it right next time. They finally took pity on us and brought small tongs to use I

  kept dropping everything I picked up with the chopsticks. What a blast,

we had lots of laughs before we finally got full.
