We got on what Panama calls a chicken bus. It gets the job done but you always wonder if it will.

it rattled and clanked the whole way but we made it .

The thing about chicken buses is they just keep picking up people.

all the seats are full but he keeps stopping, and more people, if it's a women the ticket man

  makes someone move over a bit , so there are three people in a two people seat.

there can also be people in the aisle standing and packed.

 

There is a fruit here , also seen it in Mexico, called Durian , it is called the king of fruit , it is third

  largest. It is somewhat the shape of a watermelon. But has hard spikes all over the outside of it.

it is the most expensive to buy even in producing countries. In smell it is also king. This stuff

  stinks , I mean really truly , literly stinks! It's horrible! It is so bad a lot f hotels put up signs it

is not allowed in the hotel . It tastes very good you just want to make sure you only eat no more

  than about the sized a plum or I would almost. Bet you will be trying to sleep..........alone, if you

  can sleep.

anyway back to my story. Any idea what it's like to get on a bus and your half way to destination

  when some sweet soul decides he needs to transport a whole case of Durian.

ugh! Awful ! We survived it , but not a good time.

 

Roy was blaming his neighbor in the seat beside him.......but the smell didn't go away!

to be fair the durian has a wonderful flavor. It is very sought after. It is just a psychological 

obstacle you need to get past the smell .

 

the scenery here is really lovely . Very tropical. Wide roads. Mountains, Sea, the beaches so far

  are not anything special I think you have to go to the islands to get to the great ones.

we are going on a tour tomorrow to what is known as James Bond Island.

"The Man With The Golden Gun" parts of it were filmed here.  

Will talk all more about that tomorrow .

when it rains here it can really rain , We need prayers for lovely weather just till we get home.

they truly need rain here so don't want to deprive them of it but really need nice weather to enjoy

  or day.

 

iI knew the day was coming, I had heard about these nifty units but had lucked out and not found

  them .....till now 

these are called squat toilets.  

For an American country girl we know about finding the closest bush or using a nice convenient

  felled log for a seat. But I have to admit this one had me scratching my head and wondering "

  How am I going to do this?

 this dandy unit was at a bus stop The floor was wet like they had just cleaned it but I wasn't

  sure that was the reason. I didn't want to just drop my pants and get them wet. I also didn't want

  to aim wrong and wet them myself. So I hiked up the pant legs pulled down the tops aimed.

   Ha ! I think I hit the target better than some guys!
