Monday 7 Sept 

Roy and I were laying in each other's arms this morning . I said I wandered how many couples

  could live so closely together for three months at a time and not fight.

He starts laughing, and says. " any idea how lonely it is with 2 million people around you and no

  one speaks English? Of course I'm not going to make you mad , I need someone to talk to!"

 

 Headed out about 8am. Not going very far so no real hurry. About 60 miles 

Where is a taxi when you need one? Normally they are tooting at us all the time

wanting to know if we want a ride.

so backpacks on our backs walk about 3/4 of a mile. 

Normally not a big deal but it's getting close to leaving time and I have been collecting things to

take home.

You wouldnt think weight could add up so fast.! These packs are getting heavy!

 

got to bus station, had planned to take a mini bus as they are faster. When we got 

to the station a lady we had spoke to yesterday when we were making inquiries , came up and

  was pretty determined we were going to take the bus . Oh well no big deal only going 60 miles.

Truth be known we'd rather take a bus anyway. 

 

Turns out it was her and her husbands bus, he drove she collects money.

usually can't check in to hotel until 2pm, so ok we will take bus, it is cheaper , but takes longer.

they stop at every bus stop, and wave along the way.

however this time we had a new experience! 

We were about half way to our destination and one of the men came up and said something to

  the driver. Driver pulls off the side of the road and three men and a women gets off.

three guys go behind a sign and the women ducks into the bushes! Yup....they did!

Roy and I are grining... I guess when you gotta go you gotta go!

they get back on the bus and off we go.

we think they may have been Cambodias or Vietnam as their language sounded different.


Tuesday 8th

there is a Catholic Church here that is suppose to be very lovely . About 1 1/2 miles away ,so

  head out early for a lovely walk.

they were right it is very beautiful!

We got there about 15min early so went to a little cafe and got something to eat.

went inside church and WOW.

This is really amazing. A beautiful ,peaceful 20 minutes latter and lots of pictures, we head out.


Chanthaburi has created the most beautiful park. It has three connecting bodies of water and

  paths going around each lake, as well as around the whole park. Three bridges to take you to

  different parts of the park .

they also have a huge work out area all free. Just about every exercise machine you could want.

  Most of them stainless steel this. Picture is just one part of the exercise area.

A wonderful 4-5 mile walk , lovely. Light breeze , lots of shade trees,

some incredible old buildings. A very old wall, 

French ruled here for a number of years so the building that are around here many are

  influenced by the French. Tho old , still lovely.
