I am sure no one thought I could write an interesting story about pillows.
Your probably right , but it is worth a mention
.
we, as you know have been in a few hotels, the last few months.
we have stayed in 2 star hotels and all but one has been exceptionally great.
we have slept on many mattresses.
In Thailand They believe in FIRM mattresses , !
we have slept on very firm and found that we really like it.
we have slept on really very firm and found that you can sleep if your very tired, the first night .
The he second night might be a bit restless but do able.
we have slept on good quality box springs , ok for a night or two.
then there was the mattress from.......... ,it felt like those big ropes you see ships tied to the dock
with, thrown on to bricks
. We seriously had waffle marks on our backs and sides the next
morning. That thing was awful!
as you walk the streets you can look into some homes of Thai people. Many have garage doors
that are up first thing in the morning., and then pulled down at night.
as you walk by you will see inside.
Many times they jest have a thin mat on the floor to sleep on.
sometimes it's a wooden couch, no mattress at all .
Its very common to see men asleep on the sidewalks. Just taking a nap at lunch time.
If you come to Thailand you will get a firm mattress!
now, let's talk pillows
They are not like mattresses
. You will get all kinds.
it maybe like Goldie Locks and the Three Bears.
You our might get one that's wayyyy to soft.
the next one might be wayyyy to hard.
the next one might be just right. Ahhhhh wonderful.
we have had big fat ones ....you get a kink in your neck using
or some you punch and fluff trying to get enough loft to hold your head.
then there is the pillow we have been using for the last few nights.
we have a very nice king size bed
we love it! When we get home will see if we can find one similar , ours needs replacing.
but on to the pillow
.
i think these pillows are homemade . They are very comfortable to lay your head on .
they are about 2ft from top to bottom and about 2 1/2 - 3ft from side to side.
they are made of firm foam , don't get me wrong they are comfortable if you are laying on your
back.
The problem arises , because that's the only way they are comfortable.
you see they are about 2ft top to bottom, which if you are short , presents no problem .
but being 6'3 the pillow pushes you down 2ft. So your feet are hanging off the bed.
most people never run into this problem.
But a tall person has a real aversion to their feet hanging over the
edge of the bed, it just does not make for a good nights sleep!
the pillow is firm so it does not give in to reshaping to suit.
If your sleeping on your side, it folds in the middle, on the side your using
the other side keeps its shape...firm!
I rolled up a towel and used as a neck roll.
Roy fought the pillow!
This is pictures I snuck while Roy was asleep
I'm not sure who won the battle?
