Pattaya, Thailand
Read about Pattaya.

When we went down we had decided we were not really interested in coming here .

But we have 8 days we need something to do. So decided to see a few sights here.

never really know what to expect when you go to a new place.

this lives up to its hype, Pattaya is Thailand's Las Vegas.

They dont have the gambling but everything else.

its a bit of a seedy city , it has a few things that are of interest to us.

One being Sanctuary of truth.

Sometimes when we get in a taxi you have a general idea where your going but, rely on the

driver to get you there.

Sometimes you go thru some seedy parts of the neighborhood. You really begin to wonder

what your getting into .

Can't tell you how many times thats happened to us.

Then wow. something so special it really takes your breath away.

That happened today.

I had read about this place and thought it might be interesting.

It turns out there is no way pictures can do this place justice!

It is an incredible work of art.

It is only a replica of an ancient art .

The place is all built of wood. Everything.

It was built to revive an ancient knowledge.

Thai artists could build a wooden structure of more than one hundred meters or twenty storey

of a modern building.

There are gods and goddesses and awesome designs.

Various forms of art no matter what religion they are to reflect thoughts and spirits of eastern

  culture .

It was built to show the truth between humans and the universe

Father, Mother earth, sky sun , moon and the stars.

this is 32 acres , the indoor space is 2115 meters , 22,765 sq ft, it is 100 meters or 1,076

ft high and its length is 100 meters or 1076 ft wide.

There are no nails used, just wood.

As we came to this place the first sight you see , your just going.........OH Babe look at that!

You can just see the top thru the trees .

The ocean in the background.

So very lovely!

Then you get out of the taxi and wind your way thru paths and trees

And more Stairs!

The thing about going down stairs is you always have to come up .

But everything is wood except the rope.

They even had random pieces of wood they laid down like brick pavers for a patio like effect.

This place is right on the ocean and all open to the breeze.

It is incredibly lovely, We spent hours here wandering around.

The columns inside must have been 30 inches across. just huge.

everywhere you turn there are human figure or mythical creatures.

This is a constant work in progress. They go thru ,sand and clean and stain, but by the time they

finish , its time to start at the beginning again .

They put on a very cute dance with the Thai traditional dancers . The grace and style so

smooth flowing. Their hands twisting to tell stories.

and a sword fight , that we got quite a laugh at.
