Are we in Ireland?

Witless Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
We only spent 2 nights on the Avalon Peninsula staying in Witless Bay at a comfortable bed and breakfast where the friendly owner, in typical Newfoundland fashion, left 2 thick cod filets in the fridge for us, refusing payment, after we told him that it was impossible for us to find fish anywhere, which we then cooked on his BBQ.

It was a bit wet and very foggy here but we drove the Irish Loop down to the south eastern tip of the Avalon at Mistaken Point where we did a short guided hike to some very interesting fossils . We also tried to see humpback whales on a boat tour, but only saw puffins. We also visited Colony of Avalon and learned about how the first settlers carved out an existence. Irish roots run very deep here as Irish flags can be seen everywhere on the peninsula and Irish Rover type local music fills the air.
