A Diamond Jubilee & a French Mother's Day

Rognonas, Provence, France
So as not to miss out on the celebrations back home, I had brought bunting and flags down to the S.of France. We strung these up round the gite, opened champagne and played "God Save the Queen" out loud. Funnily enough most of the other guests at the moment were Australian or Canadian so they were happy we were celebrating.
It was also French Mother's Day so for lunch we had prebooked a restaurant -the Auberges de Noves- which had a set menu for the occasion . There were 8 or 9 courses and they were all fabulous and it took us 4 hours to get through them. Not that we cared because it became overcast and rained as well as thundered but we were in a lovely dining room doing what we like best -eating drinking and socialising.
