Twin Lakes Campground, Yukon, Canada
We finished the Cassiar Highway arriving in the Yukon. Our first stop was to drive East to Watson Lake for WiFi, get Yukon information and a fishing license. Backtracking, we headed West and drove to Morley Lake Recreation Site (RS) in the far Northern part of British Columbia where we setup camp alongside the lake. The weather is still dreary.
Off early in the morning, we headed further West to Wolf Creek Territorial Park (TP) where we setup in the last non-reservable site. After disconnecting Wild, we headed to Whitehorse for the internet at their great Welcome Centre, some shopping at a great deli, the bank and last of all, a shower at their Olympic Recreation Centre. It poured on our way back to the trailer but still managed to have a great campfire.
With the longer days (twenty hours of light), we left really early to shop for supplies and food for the Arctic; Cindy also got her phone working properly again with the help of AT&T plus Triniti Communications at the recommendation of a Visitor Centre employee. On the road (Highway #2 towards DawsonCity) a little late, we made it to Twin Lakes TP for the night. With Spruce wood included in the twenty dollar camping fee, our meals and our clothes smell wonderful.
Off early (06:30), we continued North for five hours until we met up with the Demster Highway; stay tuned for the “Tuk or Bust Too” Blog.
Tidbits:
  • Bear 13:0 Moose
  • New reservation system at Wolf Creek Campground sucks without WiFi
  • Lots of road construction improvements along Highway #2

Jake says you should head to Skagway and hike the Klondike Trail to Bennett Lake, then take the train back to Skagway :) (Obviously you should head to Bennett Lake)
