Where the boys go!

Sinquerim, Goa, India
The final leg of our trip promised rest and relaxation. Despite the inevitable intermittent showers we looked forward to spending time relaxing around the pool and enjoying the slower pace in Goa.

It may have been the rain which dampened our spirits but they were not raised by the first impressions when we checked into the Aldeia Santa Rita hotel. The alfresco dining room was tired and not only looked gloomy but also rather grimy. However, our spirits rose on discovering that we were probably the only English tourists staying at the hotel. An opportunity to meet and chat to Indian tourists in a relaxing setting! But our spirits soon fell when we realised that our fellow guests were not Indian families or even couples but some sort of mass bachelor party!

The boys must have been reading my mind - the bit about meeting Indians - so they decided to wake us up at 6 o'clock by banging on our door to go for a run. I decided that I didn't want to go for a run and thought that they'd take the hint if we ignored them. They didn't and continued banging on the door until I opened it. Unfortunately I'm not fluent in either Hindi or Konkani but they left very quickly and may well still be running for all I know!

Following several telephone calls we arrange to transfer to an alternative property.
