Another day, another hotel

Sinquerim, Goa, India
Today we check out of the Aldeia Santa Rita hotel and transfer to the Hotel Sun Village.

The transfer is not without an amusing diversion - although not that amusing at the time - when we are taken to the wrong hotel. Having unloaded the minibus and carried our bags through to the reception of what we thought was the Hotel Sun Village, we were greeted by reception staff who were clearly not expecting us. They were right of course. Fortunately we were able to catch the minibus driver before he disappeared, reload, re-board and be driven to the right hotel!

The Hotel Sun Village, when we finally arrive, looks a little more promising. It's a huge property, which to be honest also looks a little tired, probably because it is low season. However, our rooms are spacious and clean, as is the pool and other public areas.

Dinner is buffet style with a selection of Southern Indian dishes. The staff in the restaurant are friendly and eager to please. They are even friendlier and somewhat surprised that we all eat from the buffet.

Dinner is even more fun when the power is cut and all the lights go off! It turns out to be a regular occurrence. The waiters instantly spring into action with their lighters to illuminate the serving dishes and guide us back into the dining room.
