Roadside to Poolside

Sinquerim, Goa, India
Apart from my morning walk after breakfast we spend the day relaxing poolside at the hotel.

As I walk along from the roadside I caught glimpses of women going about their daily chores, washing and hanging out clothes to dry. The vegetation is lush but very dense, in the clearings domestic animals, gaur or Indian bison munch the vegetation whilst elsewhere chickens wander around scratching for food.

Repairs are being carried out along sections of the road. The workers use fairly rudimentary hand tools. A man wields a small pick whilst a woman with a small child moves stones and rubble.

Further along the road as I get nearer to the Baga river I stop for a while to watch a man fishing. He casts his net but doesn't appear to have caught much when he lands it.

Back at the hotel Josh and Grace have the pool to themselves, whilst Sue and I sit undercover to shelter from the warm intermittent rain.
