Sinquerim, Goa, India
And so begins the final leg of our journey - the journey back home to England. Our bags are packed and we make our way down to reception to load them into the minibus.

It's early morning and we drive to the airport in darkness, catching glimpses of the surrounding countryside from the headlights of the minibus.

Dabolim airport even at this time of the morning is busy and appears chaotic, at least to us, with tired travellers who are also homeward bound. After an initial security check we are able to check in and then have a final security check before moving through to the departure lounge.

We have a one hour internal flight from Dabolim to Mumbai. The Jet Airways W480 leaves Dabolim at 08:10 hrs and arrives at Mumbai at 09:10 hrs. We spend a couple of hours in the transit lounge at Mumbai before boarding the Jet Airways 9W118 which departs at 12:55 and is scheduled to arrive at London Heathrow at 17:55 hrs.

Taxiing along the runway at Mumbai we get a brief view of the shanty town on the perimeter of the airport. The thousands of people living there are in the process of being relocated to enable the airport to expand. Another example that India and its many people are on the move. And so are we.

The flights home are uneventful, no crying babies, turbulence or sickness! The inflight food service is our last reminder of India, at least for the time being.
