Grand Canyon - May 19
so you drive endless and through forest - arrive at the campground and they say you are at the Grand Canyon.
so after setting up the tent we walk over and amazingly you walk through the forest and suddenly you stand in front of this huge canyon.... you can't believe it: it looks like a post card

 A hike to the bottom
so there are again the options: relax - halfway down or you are one of the extrems and you go down and up in one day. guess where I was in: the whole deal:
we leave early in the morning, when it was still cool and then we go down... at every corner you see different stones - if you were never in a desert than it is even more amazing, the cactuses and plants, the different views after each corner and then we are down at the Colorado river....
we follow the river along and cross over the bridge so we reach the Phantom ranch at a side river of the Colorado... and there we relax a little hand our feet in the water - get wet and than it is time for the way up... and it goes up and up and up...
a short break in the Indian's garden so we can relax before we continue on...
but we all did it and were proud of ourselves
